Mount French Lodge, previously known as The Bunyip Scenic Rim Resort is a privately owned and operated Lodge just over 1 hour from Brisbane.
The property sits high on Mount French overlooking the Fassifern Valley and the Great Dividing Range.
It was originally built in 2008 by Robert & Marina Izatt and later purchased by Redgum Hospitality. The Lodge sits in the middle of a 100 acre working cattle property encompassing an abundance of flora & fauna.
The History of Mount French
Mount French encompasses ancient, volcanic peaks that are recognised as popular bushwalking, rock climbing and bird watching locations. They are key conservation area's in SE QLD for QLD Parks & Wildlife. The mountain rises 579m above sea and is approximately 100km west of Brisbane.
The traditional owners of the mountain, the Ugarapul people, named the two peaks Punchagin (the southern peak) and Mee-bor-rum (the northern peak)
